Good morning everyone!!
It is a awfully foggy day here in Dubai and I am still recovering from this awful throat/cold infection that I got on my flight back from Singapore on the 1st.
I can’t believe it’s been 11 days that I’ve been home sick but thank god I am slowly getting back to my normal self.
Big thank you to all of you who noticed I was quiet for a few days on social media and sent me lovely messages. You guys really are the best!
So, as you know I flew to Singapore recently and decided to revisit the wonderful Gardens by the Bay and check out the popular Art Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands.
When we landed into Singapore I quickly showered, got changed and came downstairs to get an Uber to Marina Bay Sands.
The Museum was quite easy to spot as it is the huge flower shaped building that sits on the edge of Marina Bay.
Once we arrived to the Art Science Museum we went to the information desk and they told us that there is three different exhibitions you can visit inside:
- Future World
- Treasures of the Natural World
- Art from the streets
They all range from 17 – 19 SGD, and you can choose which ones you would like to visit.
We went for the Future World as we didn’t have an awful amount of time and were really just interested in seeing the lights in the Light Room.
Once we got our tickets we went inside two dark doors and it was pitch black until we stepped into a room with dreamy lights and waves swaying gently with the music.
The exhibition was quite small but the highlight and the main attraction was the Light Room which you have probably seen all over Instagram and to be honest it really was worth it just for that.
The lights shimmer and change to the music in the background and the colours change from bright white to pink to purple. It is however a busy spot so I would highly recommend going early or just being patient because everyone will be wanting to get that perfect shot and so it takes a while to get through.
After we finished with the museum we walked over to Gardens by the Bay and I was full on sweating at this point. It was so humid and the walk from Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Metro to Gardens by the Bay is a pretty long one so be prepared.
We got tickets to both the Cloud Dome and Flower Dome which ended up being a total of 28 SGD.
We were so hot and sweaty at this point that I said we should go to Cloud Dome first as I remember it being nice and cool inside.
I wasn’t wrong! The second you walk through the doors you are welcomed by the huge waterfall that sprays cold water on you and the whole Dome is enclosed with air conditioning. The perfect way to cool off!
We spent a decent amount of time walking around admiring all the greenery and architecture and then proceeded to Flower Dome.
As it was Chinese New Year at the time of our visit, many of the structures were decorated to celebrate this occasion and so it was very colourful and exciting!
The endless array of flowers are truly magnificent and the view from where you are of the Marina Bay Sands itself is something to stop and appreciate.
Of course before we left we walked by the infamous Super Trees but we didn’t go up to the Skyway as it was forecast to rain and we really wanted to be snug in bed before the downfall. If you do visit, I highly recommend you do this though as the views from up there are truly astonishing.
When we finally got back to the hotel I was exhausted and starting to get sick so I quickly downed my bubble tea and tucked myself in for an early wake up call at 5am.
I can’t wait to revisit Singapore again, it is always a destination that I would happily fly to over and over again with no complaints.
My next flight is Bangkok, Thailand and I am so happy at the fact that it is a short flight as I am still not feeling one hundred percent and of course it is home … YAYYY!
It will be a quiet layover filled with my grocery shopping and me eating as much Thai food as I can in twenty four hours, but I will share it with you guys nonetheless and hopefully the following time I have Bangkok I can meet up with a few of you when I am all better!
Until then have a lovely day and take care!
Love Jessica Cairney.
Hope you get better soon. 🙂
Don’t you feel oppressed?
